DIY make-up remover
If you are out of makeup wipes try baby shampoo. It is an inexpensive make-up remover and it is gentle enough for a baby so it should be perfect for you. The no-tears formula is safe for even the delicate tissue around your eyes. Wet your face and apply a small amount of baby shampoo to the tips of your fingers or to a cotton swab. Rub gently in a circular motion to remove any stubborn make-up. Finally, rinse your face thoroughly and pat dry with a soft cloth towel to reveal a clean, soft face.
Exfoliate for glowing skin
I get this question all the time. What can I do that is affordable to look ten years younger? My answer is, “Try using an exfoliating mask.” It’s a great way to remove old, dead skin layers. By removing the old layers of skin, it allows your new skin to have a natural glow, leaving it looking fresh and rejuvenated. To create your exfoliating mask, combine:
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon of honey
juice from half a lemon
Make sure your face is freshly washed with lukewarm water before applying your mask. Show your skin a little special attention by massaging the mask into your skin for five minutes. Let it stand for an additional 15 minutes then rinse and pat dry with a soft towel.
Cleanse daily
Cleansing your skin daily will play a major role in how soft and clear it will be. Try using rosewater (gulabjal) all over your face, forehead and neck. It is one of the simplest remedies for cleansing your face. It is great for all skin types and I recommend you use it right before going to bed at night. This is an excellent way to keep your skin problem-free.
Tone the skin
Skin toners can be very costly. Here is a very simple but very effective way to keep your face feeling fresh and oil free. Mix white vinegar & water in equal proportions. Use a cotton makeup pad, dip it in the solution and wipe your face and neck area with the homemade facial toner. This can be done as often as needed and is one of the best ways to keep your skin nice and tone. And this toner can be used on all skin types.
Don’t forget to moisturize
Before leaving the house you want to always use a facial moisturizer. For most people, pure coconut oil is all that is needed for moisturizing the face. It is naturally full of collagen and is easily absorbed by the skin. Coconut oil’s natural anti-bacterial properties make it a great option for oily and acne prone skin. Use a wedge sponge to dab it on. Let it soak into your skin and leave you with a beautiful, non-oily glow.
Many women and men are faced with having dry skin. Here is a great solution for your problem. You can quickly revitalized dry skin with nothing more than a few dabs of olive oil. Use a hot steamed towel over your face and let it stand until it cools for an extra benefit. Olive oil not only heals but it softens the skin too.
Banish acne
Even as adults, many of us experience unwanted acne. When you have an acne breakout, try using a little Pepto Bismol. This is a good way to clear up an occasional pimple quickly. Apply a small amount of Pepto Bismol to your pimple with a cotton swab and allow to air dry. As the product dries, it draws the oil and bacteria from your pimple, allowing the swelling and redness to disappear.
Give your lips some love
Are you having a problem with chapped lips? Well, here is a little secret to keeping your lips naturally moist. It’s the easiest lip balm ever. And because it’s made with coconut oil and beeswax, it tastes like honey and fresh coconut – so it is already naturally flavored. Combine:
2 parts coconut oil
1 part beeswax
a few drops of vitamin E
Use a grater to grate the beeswax. Mix all the ingredients together and place in microwave for about 30 seconds. Use a pot or tube to pour mixture in before it settles.
