We will all battle hopelessness at some point in our lives. And no matter who we are or what our situation, HOPE is one thing we all desperately need. Most people understand hope as wishful thinking, as in “I hope something will happen.” But that is such a watered down version of what hope is.
Hope is “the happy and confident anticipation of good.” It’s a positive expectation that something good is going to happen to you because of God’s great goodness. When we embrace hope on purpose, it influences our thoughts, our attitudes, our outlook and the way we speak. When you have hope, you speak with authority.
Words are not simply sounds caused by air passing through our larynx. Words have real power. Words do more than convey information; they can translate a desire into a physical reality. The power of our words can actually destroy one’s spirit or restore and rebuild one that is broken. They not only exacerbate wounds but can heal them directly.
Of all the creatures on this planet, only man has the ability to communicate through the spoken word. The power to use words is a unique and powerful gift from God. Like tools, they can be used to help us reach our goals because the words we speak are actually the overflow of our hearts.
Let the power of your words be used of God to manifest the power of your faith. Use your words to become the leader of your life. Allow them to lead yourself to where you want to be. Your words can breathe life back into your ambitions, your desires, your goals, your relationships. You are the only person who can create the future you want. So voice your ambitions, use the power of your words and don’t let reality get in the way of your dreams.
Hope is not a wishy-washy, wait-and-see attitude, but an ACTION we must choose to take on purpose each day. It’s the sometimes unexplainable, but always undeniable, feeling that today would be a bad day to give up. Never assume that where you’ve been or where you are is as good as it gets. And when your goal or your situation seems impossible, keep in mind that nothing is impossible for God. Hope believes boldly, decides daringly, speaks firmly and perseveres passionately!
So tell us, what’s your word of hope for the day?
