It may be difficult for most items to go through a needle’s eye, but it doesn’t have to be when staying focused on the goals you’ve set at the beginning of the year. This is why we have decided to give you a mid-year check up and some quotes to motivate you to stay focused and complete what you have started.
Are you ready? Then let’s go!
1. Have you lost 10 lbs or more toward your weight loss goal?
2. Did you complete a 5K, half marathon, triathlon or any competition?
3. Are you a vegan, vegetarian or living a healthier lifestyle?
4. Was the trip to that selected country, city, island or state as awesome as planned?
5. Does your financial statement reflect your new focus on savings?
6. Have you changed jobs/careers or opened your own business?
7. Did you join or became active in a charitable organization?
8. Spiritually, have you placed your faith in the hands of the one who created you?
9. Were the words “I do”, “I will marry you” or “Yes, I’m pregnant” uttered from your lips?
10. Do you plan on accomplishing all of your 2015 goals before the end of the year?
If you answered “yes” to most of these questions, then you’ve remained focused and are about to see the rewards for all your efforts.
If your response is “no” for most, then read and post some of the motivational quotes below in your living or work space to help encourage you for the next five months.
Quotes That Inspire
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” — Stephen A. Brennan
“Circumstances may cause interruptions and delays, but never lose sight of your goal. Prepare yourself in every way you can by increasing your knowledge and adding to your experience so that you can make the most of opportunity when it occurs.” — Mario Andretti
“Focused, hard work is the real key to success. Keep your eyes on the goal, and just keep taking the next step towards completing it. If you aren’t sure which way to do something, do it both ways and see which works better.” — John Carmack
“I don’t care how much power, brilliance or energy you have, if you don’t harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there, you’re never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants.” — Zig Ziglar
Looking over my goals at the mid-year mark gives me a sense of hope. It allows me to smile and breathe a little more easily when I realize all that I’ve accomplished. I find it amazing that at the start of each new year, we are super excited for what is to come and then midway in, we lose heart. Is it because we didn’t keep our goals in front of us? Did we allow disappointment to throw us off course?
I journal every year for I am a believer in the words that say:
“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time;” Habakkuk 2: 2-3
The advice I would leave has already been coined by author and speaker Dr. Wayne Dyer, who stated:
“With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.”
