Her words were a good reminder, what I needed to hear. Are these words you need to hear?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/rag4hfFCBEg\">Listen to it here!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have experienced a roller coaster of \u201cwell, alright\u201d moments this year \u2013 many of you may have experienced the same:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry, but we don\u2019t have budget to work with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, alright. (Lord, where to next?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cYou broke up? Why? You\u2019ll never find another man who will love you like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well\u2026 (breathe deeply)\u2026 alright. (Lord, soften my tongue because that family member doesn\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Did he really just say that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, <em>alright<\/em>. (Not worth the energy, moving on.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Your insurance doesn\u2019t cover that treatment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, alright. (Lord, help me find another way.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Breaking News: A peaceful protest turned violent tonight in downtown Dallas and police officers are being ambushed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well (head down, tears and anger come, deep breaths), alright. (Lord, be with them, save them, help us. What is going on?!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, of course, there are also the good \u201cwell, alrights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to offer you a position at our company.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, ALRIGHT! Imagine it sounding like J.J. from \u201970s sitcom Good Times shouting \u201cDY-NO-MITE!\u201d (Lord, thank you for the provision and stability.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis house is yours to rent if you want it.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, alright! (Lord, thank you for moving us back to our community in our own space where rent doesn\u2019t skyrocket and neighbors aren\u2019t heard through walls.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI want to hire your company.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well, alright! (Thank you, Lord, for this awesome first win at my new job.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But, there aren\u2019t nearly enough of the good ones. At least that\u2019s what we think.<\/p>\n<p>Think of the times that tested your patience and made you question your faith, the situations that weren\u2019t quite what you planned and the outcomes weren\u2019t what you hoped for. But now that you\u2019re on the other side of those challenges, can you see how you\u2019ve grown? Was something better in store for you? Did tragedy bring people closer together? Did He wake you up to live another day and enjoy the simple things with loved ones, to serve others, and to make a difference in this world?<\/p>\n<p>I encourage you to reflect on your \u201cwell, alright\u201d moments as the year comes to an end. We have a choice in how we live, how we see the world, how we treat and love one another, how we defy the odds, how we walk our walk and talk our talk, and how we choose not to succumb to negative politics and sensationalized headlines.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremiah 29:11 says <em>For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, alright.
