Simple, yet thought provoking messages often have the greatest impact on my life. That\u2019s probably why racing through the airport this past January a small little book caught my attention \u2013 <strong>The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader<\/strong>, by John C. Maxwell.<\/p>\n<p>I flipped to the first page of the introduction and a question leapt out at me:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>If you took the time to really look at yourself, deep down, would you find the qualities needed to live out your boldest dreams, the ones so big that you\u2019ve never shared them with anybody?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hmm\u2026now I was intrigued. I quickly scanned the book and realized it was a great primer for not only leadership but for life in general. So, I bought it and read through the first chapter on my flight. Then I stopped. It was so rich I just wanted to meditate on the first quality \u2013 character \u2013 for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n<p>The chapters were so short I decided to read one each day as my moment of inspiration and reflection. It was an awesome three weeks!! At the end of each chapter in his \u201cBringing it Home\u201d section he gives 3-4 things you can do right then to improve on that quality. Day by day, I started to see changes in myself. I became more of the person I needed to be on the inside so I could be more of what I wanted to be on the outside.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to \u201cBecome the Person Others Will Want to Follow\u201d this book is for you. It doesn\u2019t matter if you lead at home, work, church, school, or the community center. Just a chapter a day, 10 minutes invested in you becoming a better you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aren\u2019t you worth it?<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I adore little books that give you things in bite size nuggets.
