For the past two decades, Katrina McGhee has represented innovation and excellence in women’s health, leadership and empowerment. What began as a desire to make a difference, has led to a life dedicated to improving the health and well being of women around the world. A recognized authority in global marketing, strategic philanthropy and cause marketing, Ms. McGhee has become a leading influencer for the organizations she represents to broker mutually beneficial partnerships with consumers and corporate citizens wanting to do well while doing good. Currently, she acts as a strategic consultant in marketing and social entrepreneurship for organizations dedicated to addressing the compelling issues of our time.
Ms. McGhee has served in leadership at two of the largest non-profit organizations in the world. At Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, where she served 6 ½ years in various executive capacities and ultimately as the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, she was responsible for global marketing, business development and cause marketing along with oversight of more than 200 corporate partnerships, 140+ Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series events, millions of donors and more than $350 million in annual revenue. As a brand ambassador, Ms. McGhee spoke regularly at large-scale conferences and events on women’s health around the world.
During her time as Director of Marketing at the American Heart Association she launched their first national women’s campaign that included the highly successful healthy lifestyle program, Choose to Move, which helped more than 100,000 women move from sedentary to active lifestyles.
With a heart for helping at home and abroad, Katrina has lectured and consulted on strategic philanthropy and women’s issues in Jordan, Ghana, Zambia, the Bahamas, and numerous other countries. As an advocate for mentoring young women and girls, she currently serves on the advisory board member of The Children of Domestic Violence Foundation. She’s also an active member of the Trinity Chapter of The Links, Incorporated where she is actively involved in their So SMAART program encouraging girls to consider careers in science, math, engineering, aviation and the arts.
Her passion for a life driven by purpose has encouraged her to embark on a personal journey of sharing her story to inspire others through her blog, Loving on Me! A catalyst for abundant living, she’s taken on the challenge of helping women channel their passion into service for greater good.
Recognized for her business acumen and leadership, she was a 2012 Women that Soar honoree and was named to the 2011 and 2010 Top 50 Power and Influence list for The NonProfit Times. Katrina was also acknowledged as one of the 2009 Top 20 Minority Business Leaders by the Dallas Business Journal and received the coveted 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Pioneer of the Year award from PRNews.
Katrina McGhee is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. (Accounting) and the University of Texas at Arlington. (MBA, Marketing), She is the proud mother of one son, Brandon.
